OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture dated July 9, 2014, and pursuant to Sections 25, 26, and 27 of
Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1996, the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act , is pleased to: (
a) re-appoint Roy Surette of Church Point, Digby County, as a Member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board for a term of three (3) months commencing August 28, 2014; (
b) order that Roy Surette be remunerated for his service as Chair in the amount of $150 per day and that he be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling his duties as Chair, provided that any such reimbursement does not exceed that normally payable to members of the civil service; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Roy Surette in his capacity as Chair of the Nova Scotia Fisheries and Loan Board and indemnify him from personal liability in connection with any such claims, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
