Citation
1 These regulations may be cited as the Massage Therapist Titles Protection Regulations .
Definitions
2 In these regulations,
“Act” means the Massage Therapists Titles Protection Act ;
“annual declaration” means an annual declaration to an association required by
clause 3(
e) of the Act.
Prescribed associations
3 All of the following associations are prescribed for the purposes of the definition of
“associations” in
Section 2 of the Act:
(
a) Massage Therapists’ and Wholistic Practitioners’ Association of the
Maritimes;
(
b) Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia;
(
c) Natural Health Practitioners of Canada;
(
d) Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association.
Matters to be attested to in annual declaration
4 All of the following matters are the matters to be attested to in an annual declaration:
(
a) whether the person has been charged with, pleaded guilty to or been found
guilty of any offence inside or outside of Canada that is inconsistent with
the proper professional behaviour of a massage therapist, including a
conviction under any of the following for which no pardon has been
granted:
(
i) the Criminal Code (Canada),
(ii) the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada);
(
b) whether the person has been the subject of an investigation or disciplinary
process
(
i) in a jurisdiction that regulates massage therapists, or
(ii) by another association;
(
c) whether the person has been found guilty of a disciplinary finding
(
i) in a jurisdiction that regulates massage therapists, or
(ii) by another association;
(
d) whether the person has had a licensing sanction imposed by a jurisdiction
that regulates massage therapists;
(
e) whether the person has had their membership revoked by another
association.
