Whereas the purpose of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulations is to ensure just and reasonable prices for specified petroleum products taking into consideration the objectives of preserving the availability of such products in rural areas, stabilizing prices of such products and minimizing the variances in prices of such products across the Province; And

whereas the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (“Board”) considered the manner in which it would proceed to set petroleum product prices in its decision, 2006 NSUARB 108, issued on October 16, 2006; And

whereas the Board revised the wholesale margin effective January 4, 2013, in its decision, 2012 NSUARB 213, issued on December 12, 2012; And

whereas the Board revised the retail margin and the transportation allowance effective October 28, 2016, in its decision, 2016 NSUARB 168, issued on September 26, 2016; And

whereas the average of the average of the daily high and low reported product prices (in Canadian cents) for the week ended May 2, 2018, are: Grade 1 Regular gasoline 72.9¢ per litre Ultra-low-sulfur diesel oil 73.0¢ per litre

Now therefore the Board prescribes the benchmark prices for petroleum products to be: Gasoline: Grade 1 72.9¢ per litre Grade 2 75.9¢ per litre Grade 3 78.9¢ per litre Ultra-low-sulfur diesel oil 73.0¢ per litre And

now therefore the Board has determined, based on historical data regarding price changes and to achieve revenue neutrality, it is appropriate to apply, and the Board so orders, forward averaging corrections of: Gasoline: plus 1.2¢ per litre Ultra-low-sulfur diesel oil: plus 1.1¢ per litre And

whereas a winter blending adjustment of plus 0.5¢ per litre is required for ultra-low-sulfur diesel oil; And

Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2004, the Electricity Act, is pleased to amend the Renewable Electricity Regulations, N.S. Reg. 155/2010, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2010-381 dated October 12, 2010, to clarify the language dealing with the Solar Electricity for Community Buildings Nova Scotia Program and to provide for matters relating to the procurement of electricity under the program, in the manner set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, effective on and after May 8, 2018.

Schedule “A” Amendment to the Renewable Electricity Regulations made by the Governor in Council under Sections 4B, 4C and 5 of

Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2004, the Electricity Act 1

Section 35A of the Renewable Electricity Regulations, N.S. Reg. 155/2010, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2010-381 dated October 12, 2010, is amended by striking out “executed by” and substituting “deemed to have been entered into by”. 2 Clause 35B(2A)(

a) of the regulations is repealed. 3 Subsection 35B(6) of the regulations is amended by adding “or the procurement administrator” immediately after “submitted to the Minister”. 4

(1) Clause 37C(2)(

b) of the regulations is amended by striking out “50 kW” and substituting “75 kW”.

(2) Clause 37C(2)(

e) of the regulations is amended by (

a) striking out the period at the end of subclause (

v) and substituting a semicolon; and (

b) adding the following subclause immediately after subclause (v): (vi) it has not been leased solely to qualify for the solar program. 5 Clause 37E(4)(

Chapter 33 of the Acts of 2015, the Paramedics Act, is pleased to approve amendments to the Paramedics Regulations, N.S. Reg. 57/2017, approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2017-89 dated March 28, 2017, to amend the provisions respecting the registration and licensing of paramedics and the composition of statutory committees in the manner set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, effective on and after May 8, 2018.

Schedule “A” I certify that the Council of the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia, at a duly convened meeting of the Council held on April 5th, 2018, carried a motion to amend the Paramedics Regulations, N.S. Section 13 of the regulations is amended by (

a) striking out “all of” in the text before clause (a); and (

b) repealing clause (

d) and substituting the following clause: (

d) if the Registration Committee determines it is necessary, successfully complete any paramedic refresher program, paramedic program or evaluation specified by the Registration Committee. 3 Clauses 14(3)(

d) and (

e) of the regulations are repealed. 4 Clause 16(1)(

d) of the regulations is repealed. 5 (1) Subsection 17(1) of the regulations is amended by striking out the text before clause (

a) and substituting “At the time of their initial registration and initial entry in a roster for the class they were registered in under the Emergency Health Services Act, this

Section does not apply to a person who is registered in either of the following ways:”.

(2) Section 17 is further amended by adding the following subsection immediately after subsection (1): (1A) On renewal of their licence in the same class they were initially registered in, clauses (2)(a), (b), (

c) and (

d) and subsections (3), (4) and (5) do not apply to a person who is initially registered as described in subsection (1). (3) Clause 17(2)(

f) of the regulations is repealed. 6 Clause 19(

b) of the regulations is repealed. 7 The regulations are further amended by striking out “CPC” in clause 20(

a) and substituting “CCP”. 8 The regulations are further amended by striking out “subsection 16(2)” in subclause 28(1)(a)(

i) and substituting “clause 16(2)(b)”. 9 The regulations are further amended by striking out “CPC” in clause 33(

c) and substituting “CCP”. 10

Section 38 of the regulations is redesignated as subsection 38(1) and the following subsection added immediately after subsection (1): (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a paramedic while engaged in 1 or more of the following activities: (

a) conducting prevention, education and advocacy activities related to the practices and procedures performed by a paramedic; (

Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Motor Vehicle Act Citation 1 These regulations may be cited as the Gaelic Symbol Number Plates Regulations .

Definitions 2 In these regulations, “Gaelic symbol number plate” means a special number plate as described in

Section 3; “Gaels Forward Fund” means the Gàidheil Air Adhart/Gaels Forward fund established as a special purpose fund under

Section 10 of the Finance Act. Description of plate 3 On application to the Registry of Motor Vehicles in the form approved by the Registrar, and subject to these regulations, a person may be issued a special number plate that (

a) is 15.24 cm in width by 30.48 cm in length; (

b) shows a Gaelic symbol followed by blue letters and numerals on a silver white field; and (

c) bears the words “NOVA SCOTIA” at the top and “ALBA NUADH” at the bottom, and is otherwise in general accordance with the number plate depicted in

Schedule A. Eligibility for initial Gaelic symbol number plate 4 A person who has made a contribution of $50 to the Gaels Forward Fund is eligible to apply for a Gaelic symbol number plate. Renewals 5 A person who has been issued a Gaelic symbol number plate may retain the Gaelic symbol number plate if an additional $50 donation is made to the Gaels Forward Fund on each renewal of the permit for the motor vehicle for which the plate is issued.

Vehicle weight restriction 6 A Gaelic symbol number plate may be issued only for a vehicle that is a passenger motor vehicle or a commercial motor vehicle and has a registered weight of 5000 kg or less. © NS Office of the Registrar of Regulations. Web version. 341
