Auto-dialer crime alert pro- grams permit the transmission of voice and e-mail messages related to criminal activity and public safety to members of the public who wish to receive them. The Minister of Public Safety and Security shall seek advice from a stakeholder committee set up for the purpose of preparing a report on these programs. The stakeholder committee shall seek co-operation and input from local municipalities, police servi ce boards, private sector part- ners and community crime prevention groups. The report and its recommendations are to be made available to the Minister no later than six months after the coming into force of the Bill. Based on the report, the Minister shall publish guidelines relat- ing to such programs and make them available to communities across the province so that they may take them into account when considering the establishment of such programs.
