APPENDIX

An Order to approve a change in the corporate name of The Board of Trustees

WHEREAS pursuant to

Section 260(10) of the Education Act, which came into

force on September 1, 2019, a school district, school division or regional division

established or continued under the former School Act is continued and deemed to be

a school division under the Education Act with the same boundaries.

AND

WHEREAS pursuant to

Section 260(10.1) of the Education Act, a board of

trustees of a school district, school division or regional division established or

continued under the former School Act is deemed to be a board of trustees of a school

division under the Education Act.

AND

WHEREAS Ministerial Order No. 034/2019, dated August 15, 2019 and

effective September 1, 2019, continued the "Buffalo Trail Public Schools Regional

Division No. 28" as "The Buffalo Trail School Division" and "The Board of Trustees

of Buffalo Trail Public Schools Regional Division No. 28" as "The Board of Trustees

AND

WHEREAS on September 18, 2019, the Board of Trustees of Buffalo Trail

School Division passed a resolution, under

Section 79 of the Education Act, to

change the corporate name of "The Board of Trustees of Buffalo Trail School

Division" to "Buffalo Trail Public Schools."

Contract Increases Approved Pursuant to Treasury Board Directive 02/2005

Contract: Calgary Remand Centre - Divide Living Units

Contractor: Everest Construction Management Ltd.

Reason for Increase: The contract increase during 2019/20 Quarter 2 is attributable

to unforeseen circumstances/concealed conditions requiring additional work related to

relocating and rewiring fire alarm, janitor room fixtures, lighting control, and

relocating numerous electrical conduits which were embedded in cinder block walls

that were demolished.

Contract Amount: $4,529,983.00

% Increase: 19%

Amount of Increase: $848,422.01

Contract: Canmore - Provincial Court, Courthouse Renewal

Contractor: BAJA Construction Canada Inc.

Reason for Increase: The contract increase during 2019/20 Quarter 2 is attributable

to:

 Site security during construction work

 Site conditions affecting existing grades (differ from as-built) - Sallyport redesign

required

 Installation of temporary data lines for Courtroom

 Additional Prime Contractor responsibilities for General Contractor as required by

the Total Property Management company operating the building

 Revisions to incorrect Prisoner Door

 Incorrect as-built information affecting the following:

- Redesign of holding cell to suit building layout

- Additional electrical work for Duress System

- Upgrade surrounding acoustics to improve new Judge's Chamber.

All issues noted above caused project delays resulting in additional project costs.

Contract Amount: $1,364,000.00

% Increase: 36%

Amount of Increase: $488,712.46

Contract: Whitecourt - Provincial Court, Addition and Interior Renovation

Contractor: K-Rite Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Unforeseen underground conditions required changes to the

foundation system for the new building addition. This resulted in additional costs for

the foundation work as well as heat and hoarding costs due to the weather conditions

when the work was approved to proceed. The time taken to determine a suitable

foundation solution for the higher than anticipated water table and larger cobbles

resulted in costs due to construction delays.

Additional changes for electrical work and wall repairs were required upgrades to

existing building conditions that had to be addressed prior to other work proceeding.

Contract Amount: $2,022,635.00

% Increase: 16%

Amount of Increase: $330,867.95
