Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural

Resources dated June 13, 1997, pursuant to

Section 8 of

Chapter 367 of the Revised Statutes of

Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to

(

a) designate all that area of land situate at Sandy Bay, Queens County, owned by Her

Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park,

the said area of land being described in

Schedule “A” and shown outlined in bold

line on a copy of Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre Plan No. E-10-99 marked

Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation; and

(

b) declare that the Park shall be known by the name of “Thomas Raddall Provincial

Park”.

Schedule “A” to O.I.C. 97-409

All and singular that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Sandy Bay,

Port Joli, in the County of Queens, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on a compiled plan

(Field Plot No. P-021/89-2) showing “Thomas Raddall Provincial Park” and filed in the

Department of Natural Resources, Provincial Crown Land Records Centre Office at Dartmouth,

as C.L.R. No. E-10-99, the said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a survey marker Q2943 on the intersection of the western boundary of Highway

No. 415 and the southern boundary of lands now or formerly of William Lewis. Said survey

marker Q2943 being situate (by grid bearing referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified

Transverse Mercator Projection, zone 5, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude)

S 01° 30' 28" E, a distance of 1897.00 feet from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument 19587

(Geodetic Herbert No. 741019 having coordinates of North 15 934 429.77' and

East 17 933 894.52');

Thence along the southern boundary of lands now or formerly of William Lewis,

N 54° 56' 36" E, a distance of 1199.71 feet to survey marker Q2944;

Thence along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of William Lewis,

S 21° 06' 31" E, a distance of 775.18 feet to survey marker Q2986;

Thence along the southern boundary of lands now or formerly of William Lewis,

N 54° 48' 41" E a distance of 81.02 feet to survey marker Q3124;

Thence along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Eugene C. Conrad and Edna

Lillian Gale, S 28° 05' 43" E parallel to and 100 feet distant from the centreline of an existing

road, a distance of 264.18 feet to survey marker Q3123 on curve having a radius of 427.64 feet;

Thence southeasterly along a curve to the left having a radius of 427.64 feet an arc distance of

310.07 feet to survey marker Q3122. Said survey marker Q3122 being S 48° 52' 01" E, a

distance of 303.32 feet from the last mentioned survey marker Q3123;

Thence S 69° 38' 19" E, a distance of 235.45 feet to survey marker Q3121. Said survey marker

also being situated 100 feet at right angles from the centreline of an existing road;

Thence along the southern boundary of lands now or formerly of Eugene C. Conrad and Edna

Lillian Gale, N 54° 49' 05" E, a distance of 6154.29. Said survey marker Q3118 being

S 11° 04' 41" W, a distance of 5480.20 feet from Nova Scotia Control Monument 14901;

Thence N 54° 49' 05" E, a distance of 23.3 feet more or less to the ordinary high water mark of

Port Joli;

Thence continuing seaward N 54° 49' 05"E, a distance of 800 feet to a point;

Thence southeasterly 800 feet more or less from and parallel to the ordinary high water mark of

Port Joli a distance of 3800 feet more or less to a point;

Thence southwesterly a distance of 450 feet more or less to a point being 350 feet

northeasterly of the ordinary high water mark of Port Joli;

Thence southeasterly on a line 350 feet more or less from and parallel to the ordinary high

water mark of Port Joli a distance of 7350 feet more or less to a point;

Thence southwesterly a straight line distance of 2460 feet more or less to a point, said point

being 350 feet more or less perpendicular from the ordinary high water mark of Port Joli;

Thence southwesterly and westerly on a line 350 feet more or less and parallel to the ordinary

high water mark of Port Joli Harbour a distance of 1340 feet more or less to a point, said point

being S 46° 34' 15" E, a distance of 483 feet more or less from survey marker Q2976;

Thence N 46° 34' 15" W, a distance of 470 feet more or less to the ordinary high water mark of

Port Joli;

Thence along the northern boundary of lands now or formerly of Anne H. Carver, W. S.

Worrall, and Susan Van Loon, N 46° 34' 15" W, a distance of 13 feet more or less to survey

marker Q2976;

Thence continuing along the northern boundary of lands now or formerly of Anne H. Carver,

W. S. Worrall, and Susan Van Loon, N 46° 34' 15" W, a distance of 4234.56 feet to survey

marker Q2972;

Thence along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Anne H. Carver, W. S.

Worrall, and Susan Van Loon, S 19° 02' 43" W, a distance of 1544.67 feet to survey marker

Q2971;

Thence continuing along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Anne H. Carver,

W. S. Worrall, and Susan Van Loon, S 19° 11' 41" W, a distance of 1249.86 feet to survey

marker Q2970;

Thence continuing along the western boundary of lands now or formerly of Anne H. Carver,

and lands now or formerly of James S. Greenberg, S 18° 40' 39" W, a distance of 2559.51 feet

to survey marker Q423;

Thence N 21° 20' 11" W, a distance of 2170.26 feet to survey marker Q2980;

Thence N 21° 00' 21" W, a distance of 1671.92 feet to survey marker Q2979;

Thence N 20° 56' 01" W, a distance of 2218.17 feet to survey marker Q2978;

Thence N 21° 11' 18" W, a distance of 1004.95 feet to survey marker Q2977;

Thence N 21° 01' 23" W, a distance of 885.62 feet to survey marker Q2940. Said survey

marker being on the northeast corner of lands now or formerly of David Strawbridge;

Thence along the northern boundary of lands now or formerly of David Strawbridge, S 54° 41' 10" W, a distance of 2674.19 feet to survey marker Q2942. Said survey marker being

on the intersection of the northern boundary of lands now or formerly of David Strawbridge and

the eastern boundary of Public Highway No. 415;

Thence along the eastern boundary of Public Highway No. 415, N 07° 22' 24" E, a distance of

160.42 feet to a point on a curve;

Thence along aforementioned curve to the left having a radius of 1005.57 feet an arc distance

of 310.06 feet to a point. Said point being N 01° 27' 36" W, a distance of 308.83 feet from the

last mentioned point;

Thence N 10° 17' 36" W, a distance of 78.60 feet to a point on a curve;

Thence along a curve to the right having a radius of 667.13 feet an arc distance of 228.99 feet

to a point. Said point being N 00° 27' 36" W, a distance of 227.87 feet from the last mentioned

point;

Thence N 09° 22' 24" E, a distance of 956.20 feet to a point on curve;

Thence along a curve to the left having a radius of 766.20 feet an arc distance of 236.25 feet to

a point. Said point being N 00° 32' 24"E, a distance of 235.32 feet from the last mentioned

point;

Thence N 08° 17' 36" W, a distance of 264.70 feet to a point on curve;

Thence along a curve to the right having a radius of 905.11 feet an arc distance of 247.49 feet

to a point. Said point being N 00° 27' 36" W, a distance of 246.72 feet from the last mentioned

point;

Thence N 07° 22' 24" E, a distance of 804.70 feet to a point on curve;

Thence along a curve to the left having a radius of 623.89 feet an arc distance of 135.79 feet to

the place of beginning.

A tract of land having an area of 1730 acres more or less.

Saving and reserving lands now or formerly of Persis H. Worall as shown on Field Plot No.

P-067/88.

Beginning at a point on the ordinary high water mark of Port Joli being the northeasterly corner

of lands of Persis H. Worrall;

Thence continuing along a southern boundary of Crown lands S 72° 21' 55" W, a distance of

12 feet more or less to survey marker Q2950;

Thence continuing along a southern boundary of Crown lands S 72° 21' 55" W, a distance of

532.43 feet to survey marker Q2948;

Thence along an eastern boundary of Crown lands S 17° 38' 00" E, a distance of 300.00 feet to

survey marker Q2947;

Thence along a northern boundary of Crown lands N 84° 56' 49" E, a distance of 491.00 feet to

survey marker Q2946;

Thence continuing along a northern southern boundary of Crown lands a distance of 6 feet

more or less to the ordinary high water mark of Port Joli;

Thence northerly along the ordinary high water mark of Port Joli a distance of 583 more or less

to the place of beginning.

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural

Resources dated July 23, 2014, and pursuant to

Section 8 of

Chapter 367 of the Revised

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased, effective on and after

August 12, 2014, to

(

a) increase the size of Thomas Raddall Provincial Park, originally designated by the

Governor in Council by Order in Council 97-409 dated June 24, 1997, by adding to

it the lands shown outlined in bold on the plan marked

Schedule “A” attached to and

forming part of the report and recommendation; and

(b) [Clause (

b) not regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act .]
